Thanks Trent

The Atomic Toy Spaceship Project began with me wanting to capture my lost childhood by creating the toy of my childhood fantasies. As a child I wanted a giant Major Matt Mason moon base that I changed to the way I wanted the toys designed.

I started biding on eBay for Matt Mason toys only to lose bid after bid. Finally I began to win bids because an eBay seller (eBay ID trenstr) began to sell his Matt Mason moon base (Space Station) one piece at a time.

After a time buying from Trent we developed a buyer-seller friendship and I believe if it wasn't for this eBay seller I won't be writing the movie Atomic Toy Spaceship now.

Thanks Trent, I'm sending you the above photo of my moon base built in part from your childhood toy.

Thank goes to Sylvia Daniels for the photo shop work on this photo.

Working on the Moon Base

Began to make major changes to the moon base today. Radical changes in color shape and concept to the moon base including adding a fish farm.

Moon Base Phase Two

Here are four photos of the Moon Base of my childhood dreams. I plan to change this toy prop for the movie Atomic Toy Spaceship that you can no longer tell that it began as a collection of Major Matt Mason toys.

I plan to have the lunar surface and a larger black velveteen backdrop when I take the next photos of this prop for the movie.

Working on the script I've been doing research on Lost Cosmonauts that will play a part in the son's imaginary world of toy astronauts.

More Tech Problems

I loaded part of the ATS script to small portable harddrive today but lost my email when I deleted my cookies so I could access my blogs. I can't remember the password to the email and have been unable to reach my server by phone.

I feel like I can handle the big things like writing a script or getting that impossible shot but all the little tech problems are eating my life up.

Technology Frustrations

I'm almost back to the point where I lost all my script. I'm asking myself if there is enough story for a feature or even if I should think of this story as a feature at this point in the development of the concept.

I have an old camera with sound problems and a printer that is broke. I just have the need to start writing and making movies again. Of course there is that money problem.

I just got to believe in myself again and jump those technology hurtles as they come.

Setback

Lost all my work on the movie script when I hit the wrong key.

Rewriting from memory.

I'm wondering if I should ask Mattel if I could use the altered Major Matt Mason toys in one scene in the movie. I'm sure they'll say no but it doesn't hurt to ask. The most that could happen is they would tell me take all the Major Matt Mason photos down from this blog.

A New Look for Old SpaceToys

This scan shows four MMM toys with backpacks and chest controls from Astro-squad toys.

Today to my great joy I read that a Major Matt Mason movie is going to be made with Tom Hanks in a starring role. So my own movie will not feature any of the toys I'm bashing together to create prototypes for. I had hoped to sneak these toys into my little indie movie but as I see more and more MMM sites disappearing I must give up on that fantasy.

I will be keeping the same scale but will be creating all new prop toys for the movie.

Also in this scan you can see the ghosts of a toy visor and a yellow medicine bottle I hope to make more visors out of.

Above and Beyond

A front scan of the Ram Jet Pack.

I was going to have a series of different vehicles for different planets but now I'm going to keep everything on the moon with these MMM toy bashed prototypes. I'm changing this to a Moon Rocket Pack with outrigger sphere fuel tanks.

Return to Toy Space

I've been away from this blog for a while but it's time I started posting pictures of my toy space program again.

I misplaced my digital camera so here is a crude scan of my toy bashed Ram Jet Pack.

Before the Atomic Spaceship can be built a Moon Base needs to be constructed to be a launching point. Moon Two Zero will be the first step in a journey to Mars.
